Default story type when adding a story to a plan

Hi,
My Advanced Roadmaps hierarchy levels are configured such that the 'Story' hierarchy level is set use 'All other standard issue types'.

The issue I am seeing is that when I select 'Create story' the planner is defaulting to a lesser used standard issue type... My preference would be that it specifically defaults to a Story issue type (however I do not want to exclude the users from manually selecting other issue types e.g. Task).

Can this default behavior be configured?
