Default text renderer does not format html link or Jira issue key

Hi,

According to the documentation on text renderers available on Configure renderers | Atlassian Support, the default text renderer auto generates HTML link for a Jira issue key and web address.

However, the above does not work for my cloud instance but the wiki style renderer formats them correctly.  The custom field I added was of the type, Text Field (multi-line).

Is there a global setting that I need to turn on?
