Deleting a board... what happens with the issues on it?

I am new at this and I'm lost. 

I have a project with two different boards and I want to delete one of them. The issue (I believe) is that there are lots of issues on that board and I need to direct them to another board. 

To explain it better, the skill field is the one that determines what board should the issue be placed but I cannot find where to change it. 

Can someone help me?

Hi Silvia - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The cards (issues) that show up on boards are based on the underlying filter attached to the board. So you can delete a board with no problem and it will have no effect on the cards themselves - they still exist and can be accessed.

So, I would check the board filter for the board you want to delete (go to Board Settings then General to see the filter). 

Then compare that filter to the board that you want to keep. Then simply update the filter for the board you are keeping to include any of the cards from the to be deleted board.
