Deleting an issue

I'm the admin of JIRA but it cannot find a way to delete an issue which was created

How can I do that?

editorial: don't delete issues...bad practice

that said....

You need Delete permissions to delete issues. Project settings > permissions > Delete issues

Hi @Michael_Kribus 

Yes, and... to what @Jack Brickey suggested... There is no "undo" or trash bin for cloud Jira, so deleted items are gone...And, you cannot look back to learn why deleted stuff is getting added to the backlog so you can improve practices.

What we use is a custom field called Abandoned.  When you want to discard something:

  • Check the Abandoned box,
  • Add a comment to explain why, and
  • Optionally move it to Done.

We have also updated our board filters to ignore any Abandoned stuff.

There are some issues that where created by mistake, no need to have them on any list what so ever.
