I am trying to create a drop down field which is dependent on another drop down field value selection. Example: First Dropdown value -> India, Second Dropdown field value option should change to Delhi, Mumbai, Karnataka etc.,

Yes, but cascading field does not give me what is the field name for second one. If i want to query based on second value only. It wont allow me.
That is correct, you can only filter on the top level value. You will need to look for a plugin or use scripting to do that.
