Dependent fields with auto assign

HI All!

I could really use some help with a solution. I need to create two fields (Primary App, Sub-App). Sub-Apps options with change based on the Primary App option selected. I need to be able to search and report on both fields.

The second piece of this is, based on the selection made, can we have it auto-assign to specific user?

I'm open to any plug in options.

Hello Scott,

For your first request, you can create a Select list (Cascading) Custom field where you will be able to configure options inside the options of the list (inception).

To auto-assign an issue based on the last option selected from the Cascade field, you can use the add-on Automation for JIRA and configure the following rule:

Please, let me know if it works for you, Scott.

Hey @Petter Gonçalves

Typically I would agree but in this case the cascading wont work because you can't really search or report well on them. For instance.

Primary field: app 1

child field: app 1.1

and

Primary field: app1

child field: app 1.2

It appears on the screen as app 1-app 1.1 or app 1-app 1.1

But if i want to create a dashboard gadget (ex: pie chart) its going to view all items under the primary field I can't as it treats it as two separate field values where i can't break them up.
