Differences in adding flags

Hi There,

I'm wanting a quick way to find out how long a task has been flagged for. In the two different issue types below flags are presented very differently in the activity trail, where on is more obvious and easy to spot, the other is mixed in with regular activity, hence difficult to discern from other activity.

I suspect this is related to 'how' the issue is flagged. The first picture was flagged using the 'right click -> add flag' method. The bottom was within the issue itself, by ticking 'impediment' in the 'Flagged?' field; it was flagged this way because the board does not have the option to 'add flag' from the right click menu, unsure why this is.

Tl;dr:

• What is the simplest way to find the time between when an issue is flagged and unflagged?
• Why is the 'add flag' option present on some boards/issues but not on others - and how do I enable it?
