Different behavior when editing a issue via "Edit" and when "quick operation"

Jira version: v9.5.0

Using scriptrunner

I have a issue type "Feature"

I have issuePicker custom field "Feature Link"

This post is in continuation to the post Hide issuePicker custom field drop-down when Epic link is present, which has been answered. 

I have the behavior that works fine when I edit my issue. However when I do edit my issue with "quick operation" using the period (.), it does not work.

I have the "Epic Link" and apply the "setReadOnly" function on custom field "Feature Link". That means when "epic link" is present, then custom field "feature link" should be read only. 

However, having the "Epic Link" in the Jira issue and I do quick operation via period (.), Feature Link custom field is not Read only and I can still select the entries on the custom field "Feature Link" from drop down. 

In the edit mode, when "Epic Link" is present, I have custom field "Feature Link" is read only and I can not select any entries on it.
