Disable notification alerts for assignee?

Currently using default notification schemes and have been ask to assing multiple tickets to new assingee but I have to disable the notifications for each ticket? Deleteing the assigne from the project notification setting will impact other project since there is a default notification set up?
Can I simply delete the assignee or required some work around? Pls suggest

I highly suggest using a separate notification scheme for each project.

Yes, implemented a separate notification scheme still assignee's are  getting notification despite of being deleted assignee from the separate notification scheme.

To remove a notification scheme from a project:

1. From your project's sidebar, select Project settings > Notifications.
2. Select Actions > Use a different scheme.
3. In the Schemes dropdown, select None.
4. Select Associate.

 I have performed the above status and now assignee's are not getting notifications but assignee's can see each other tickets i am not sure why this has happened and can they edit others tickets. pls suggest.

I've found the default notification scheme is overkill everywhere I've setup JIRA. If you haven't setup the default user profile to exclude sending updates they make I suggest you change the default and have all the users modify their profile.  Talk to your users to see what they want. Most reporters want create, close, and maybe one or two other milestones statuses depending on the issue type. You can easily create custom events to put in the transition post functions for those events. If you allow people other than the assignee to work on the issue the assignee may want notification of things they do, especially update and comment.
