Do I have to update Java for Jira 8.12?

JConstantine September 29, 2020

I have updated to the latest version of Jira Core/Jira Software, but when I check System info I can see this:

JiraJavaVER.png

When I check the version of Java via cmd it's different:

And here's the supported platforms for Jira 8.12:

My question is do I really need to update to the latest version of Java and how do I do this properly?

Hi @JConstantine ,

You don't have to update java.

Jira brings its own java and that is used by default. So each Jira Version has the Jira Version it needs
