Do I need to reopen sprint to update velocity?

I realized I have closed a sprint before I put issues in the sprint to Done. This is impacting my velocity count for that sprint. Do I need to reopen the sprint and set the issue to Done and then close the sprint to get the correct velocity?

When you complete a sprint and it has incomplete issues, there are 3 options:

• move the issues to the backlog
• move the issues to any future sprint that's already created
• create a new sprint and then move the issues to the new sprint.

Which option did you choose when you completed the active sprint?
