Do not see "Selected For Development" in kanban backlog view

Hi.  Just updated my kanban board to utilize the new backlog feature.  In the instructions here (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver076/using-your-kanban-backlog-941595499.html), it indicates that I should see a "Selected for Development" section.  There is none in my backlog.  Only "In Progress" in the backlog view.  Any help is most appreciated!

maybe but lets have a look at your actual situation. Can you go into board setting and columns and capture the image and paste here?

@Michael Aniskovich

The "In Progress" column is likely the first column you have in your Kanban board.  I was able to enable a 'Selected for Development' column by creating a new column at the beginning of my Kanban board with that name.

Hi @Michael Aniskovich,

Those are editable columns for your Kanban board. You should be able to create new columns and name them what you would like.

Correct. That part works - column created (named "Selected for Development").

But does it mean it still requires (even in the Kanban Backlog mode) a dedicated Status for the "Selected for Development" Kanban Board column?

If yes, then how the Kanban Backlog mode is different from just mapping a dedicated status of say "Selected" to the "Selected for Development" column?

Thanks!
