Do we need to pay for atlassian applications upgrade ?

we are planning to upgrade, Do we need to pay for all the applications.

If your license is not expired, then you can upgrade to the latest version of the respective atlassian application.

If you have an expired license, then you can upgrade only to the version that was released before your license expiry date.
