Since Jira is so adaptable and cusomtizeable, each workflow is very unique. Therefore, creating and especially closing tickets needs to be adjusted and customized per screen and workflow.
On thing, however, is that a resolution value should always be set once a ticket is done. Check out this best practices on using the "Resolution" field to assist you with the workflow creation.
