1. I have created a JIRA ticket and added it to my current sprint board.
Scenario: Due date for the ticket has expired. The ticket is still in progress on my sprint board
Problem Statement:
When the due date expires, does JIRA indicate by any means on the ticket itself that this ticket is due ?
Do let me know if there are any configuration changes that need to be done at the settings
Unfortunately, the short answer to your question is no, not without some kind of add-on.
A couple of good add-ons to provide this are Traffic Lights for Jira and Traffic-Lights for Jira. (Yes, that's two different ones with only a "-" in the name to differentiate.)
In addition to a filter subscription, a Quick Filter on your status board for "issues near due date" would create a way to quickly view all the near-due issues in a familiar layout.
Hope these answers help and if so, please consider clicking the "Accept Answer" button next to each so others benefit from the "answered" indicator in their search results - thanks!

Yes, it will show you the Due date of the ticket on the card.
IF you are looking for notification once the due date is reached then you can user the filter subscription.

Thanks Yogesh. But what I was looking for is not to hover over the jira tickets to view the due date. Rather a highlighter around the card in a specific colour which would indicate that for all expired tickets. I don't have to use any filters or hover over the cards to see if it's gone past the due date or not.
Thanks

Hi @Vaishnavi Gurusamy - did you have any further questions? If not, could you take a moment to mark some answers accepted? Thanks!
