I want to understand how Jira handles Sandbox renewals after expiration. Specifically:
I’d appreciate any insights or best practices to avoid losing data during this process.

A sandbox is not like a Jira trial. The sandbox has the same expiry date as your main Jira site.
So it will simply not expire or disappear as long as your Jira Premium license is valid.
