Does Jira User Server still function during a Full Reindex?

During a Full reindex, Jira is virtually unusable, but can it still function as a User Server for other Atlassian applications that use it as a User Server (aka to authenticate Users)?

If it does, then full reindexing after a major version upgrade to Jira also breaks Authentication to any other Atlassian applications using that Jira instance as a User Server.

Hello @Michael King

That's a very obscure question. During the re-index, performance is greatly affected, that's why you do it during an after-hours maintenance window, when there are no users on the platform or using the other Atlassian products. If you start with the assumption that no users are going to be disturbed, then worrying about any temporary downstream effects on other Atlassian applications shouldn't need to be taken into consideration.

Why not just test it for yourself the next time you do a re-index and then you'll have the answer? Then you can provide the outcome here for anyone else that might want to know that answer in the future.

If you need to avoid all disturbances to users during re-indexing, you'll have to move to Data Center where you can index cluster nodes individually and let them re-sync.
