In TFS/ADO there is this great gadget called "Query Tile" it only shows the number of items in the Filter result as a clickable square. Its great for showing at a glance the state of the project. If you want to work with it, you click and work in the query like you would with filter results.
They are compact so you can put a bunch of them on one page (in Confluence say) to see project status.
If Jira doesn't have this (I can't find one) I'd love to request it be created.
You mean like the following?
Keep in mind that in the above gadget I am eligible to add from one to plenty "counts" to show. In your case only one would do the trick.
Yes exactly. Now that I know its name I see it is only available if you have Jira Service Desk Application.
This is feature request for it to be available Jira wide.

Appreciate you helping me get the answer.

Hi
I am in need to create a dashboard and I want to use "number tiles" or "buckets".This to create a dashboard that used 50 of such widgets in a grid pattern, where every number tile is programmable with a JQL string, much like you use filters in queue searches. Tiles must be also be able to color.
This would allow me to show 50+ jira queries in 1 visible dashboard and work around the limitation of Jira not being able to filter the queues like excell can with a quick thickbox to filter out the results. (Cherwell can do this, Jira can't.)
You can only sort but not futher filter the queue results by GUI.
So back to my initial question, is there such a tile widget for easy use as this shouldn't be a complicated widget request. The end result of that dashboard would be like this design:
Edit* I was able to use the "count gadget" and add a custom JQL string
