Does Quisapps Field Security plugin require users to have edit rights?

We need to provide a group of users with the ability to edit two fields. The JFS plugin looked like the ideal solution as it stated that it could give users selected rights on selected fields.

The problem is, after testnig the pluing, although this is not mentioned in the documentation, it looks like these users would have to be given edit rights. This would open up every other field to them. The plugin does not lock down standard fields, which means the most dangerous of them all (description, priority, etc) would be vulnerable.

Do I need to grant users edit issue rights in order to allow them the ability to edit one or two fields?

Robert,

To edit any field of an issue a user must have an edit issue permission. JFS can hide a supported field or make a field read-only. It can not make the issue editable if the user has no permission.

Thanks - it may seem obvious, but this really needs to be stated in the user documentation, Unfortunately this means we cannot use your plugin.
