Does a Script Listener activate before issue link event occurs?

I have a script that updates a custom Issue field based on that issue's links. I want the script to run whenever a IssueLinkCreated or IssueLinkDeleted event occur. The problem is the field stays the same before and after the script runs, yet changes if i perform the same action again. I think this problem occurs due to the script running before the event completes the link deletion/creation. Any way to fix this?

To configure to Artifactory repository just add it to either settings.xml of your Bamboo's agent maven or in the pom.xml file as described here:
