Does anyone know how to add "Progress" bar to a Kanban board (Epics only) card?

I have an Epic Kanban board for communicating with leadership.

I want to add a "Progress" bar to the cards on the board.

In my Structure I have a column that displays the progress of Epics based on certain criteria. I am currently using the number of Stories completed to define "Progress".

If I attempt to configure the board and change the extra fields in the card there are two options for progress in the options list. When I select either of them "None" is displayed on the Card.

In the description of the "Progress" field (on a Kanban card) it says it is only available for Scrum boards and is based on time estimates.

Does anyone know how to add the Progress bar available in the Structure view to a Kanban card?

I believe that progress bar for cards is based upon estimate only, so if you are not using those the values would be empty.  And, there are open defects for the existing feature for Kanban boards:
