We're wanting to consolidate spaces in confluence and reorganize our data but some individuals are afraid that their jira projects require them to have their own space in confluence instead of having multiple jira projects in 1 confluence space. Is this true?
Sean, are you using Atlassian OnDemand or do you have Confluenvce and JIRA installed on your own servers?
When running Confluence and JIRA on Atlassian OnDemand a Confluence Space is created for every JIRA Project, if you wish you can unassociate the JIRA Project with the COnfluence Space and remove the Confluence Space. Hence, not every JIRA Project needs an individual Confluence Space. A Confluence Space can be associated with multiple JIRA Projects.
We have confluence installed on our own servers.
You wouldn't happen to have a URL of the documentation for that would you?
Thanks!!

Since you are running Confluence on your own servers there's no real dependency between JIRA projects and Confluence Spaces. You can link a JIRA Project/s to a Confluence Space. The docs for this can be found here: http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/hADvDQ (requires. Confluence 3.5+ and JIRA 4.3+

Is it possible to disable this functionality? We do not want a Confluence space created automatically when a JIRA project is created. Thank you.
