Does upgrading Jira Instance and Database(Postgress) affect projects or data in In Jira?

We are going to update Jira Instance and Database(PostgreSQL) in few days. Will this affect projects,Workflows,user lists,installed plugins in Jira?

Hi @Prashanth_S , 

depending on your initial version, the addons you use or how you configured Jira, some of these things can be impacted by an upgrade. This is why Atlassian recommends testing the upgrade on a separate environment so that you can prepare for any unexpected changes.

Hi @Prashanth_S , 

you can easily export data from Jira, there are several options:

• exporting a single project
• exporting the full instance (all projects, users, configurations ...)
