I have custom emails being sent to clients when an issue transfers to a new status...the thing is sometimes the workflow has to go back to earlier statuses depending on approvals, etc... This causes the emails they received previously to be sent again when the issue goes through the statuses a second time.
If my issue goes through a status a second time, how can I keep it from sending the custom update email again? I don't see any checkbox on sending emails to not duplicate.
I was thinking of making a n issue comment then send the email and see if I could have it not duplicate on the commenting part....but was wondering if there was a more straightforward way of doing it.
Thanks!
Hey there Anthony,
Are you sending out these emails through Automation for Jira?
If so you can add a label on the issue when you've sent out the email and then a condition check that the label doesn't exist before you send the email to not double send it.
The rule might look like:
Hope that helps!
