Downgrade Jira Version because of project transfer

philas June 15, 2016

Hello,

we are running multiple projects on (v6.3.12#6343-sha1:0d8f4aa.)

We have to move them on Target: (v6.3.8#6338-sha1:68f19fa)

Afaik it is not possible so transfer between this different version.

The Target can not be updated at the moment.

Is the only option to downgrade the source server? If yes, how?

There is no safe or supported way to downgrade a JIRA, the strongest recommendation will be to avoid doing this until you have upgraded the target JIRA to 6.3.12.

(You could try fiddling with the build numbers in the database to trick the 6.3.12 version into thinking the data is from 6.3.12, but that is unreliable and risky - any change to the data structure could take out your whole system in the worst case.  The database doesn't usually change on point releases, but it might...)
