Dummy User with DL email ID not geting mail notification

Hello Experts, 

I have a situation where i created a dummy user and assigned the DL email ID. When i add this dummy user as watcher or comment @dummy_user there is not email notification created.

However when i comment or add watcher for a valid user, i get mail notification.

what could be possible reason for this?

Is the dummy user part of jira-users group?

Fazila Ashraf yes this correct. She is part of Jira-users. Other users have SSO enabled.

The next things to check:

  • Whether the account is active
  • The account have browse project permission to this project.
  • In case there is an issue security applied, account should be eligible to view the ticket

Thank you for the reply.

I have tried the following.

1. I added this dummy user as admin.

2. I sent a dummy email to this DL and I get the mail hence this DL is active. I have checked all the notification scheme etc. @mention of dummy user doesn't provide any result, unfortunately.

Do you see something in the server logs on this?

And monitor the jira email error queue
