Duplicate Epic links

Jason Fedelem January 29, 2019

We had two different people create duplicate Epics, Epic names, and Epic links.  In a stroke of fate, they used the same Epic name, down to spacing and capitalization.  This has caused half the cards for that project to be on one Epic, and half the cards on the other.

I moved them all to be on the same card.  However, I need to get rid of the other Epic Label.  I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

Thanks,

2 duplicate epics:

Both epics linked to some issues:

Now rename one epic:

Now do a bulk edit on the above 3 issues to update the epic link to correct epic:

Now all issues linked to same epic:

Delete the unwanted epic after that if needed.

HI Jason,

You may try something like this:
First choose any of the epic & rename it to something else say: xxx - Epic label
Then do a bulk update to change everywhere where the epic is linked.
Once all the issues are linked to one correct epic, delete the one which you renamed to xxx.

I hope it helps you to get rid of the unwanted epic quickly.

Thanks,
Barnali

That only helps with the Epic card.  It doesn't help me with getting rid of the duplicate epic label.  How do I do that?
