Hi everyone, I need some help creating an advance search in Jira but I'm not sure if it's possible.
Here's the scenario: I need to retrieve all tickets where, based on the start date and end date, the duration between them is more than 30 days.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
Hi Elaine,
One way would be to create a custom number field and then create an automation rule to update the custom field based on a diff between the two dates. Then you could run a query where the value of the custom field > 30.
Adding to this...
Jira's native search capabilities do you support imbedding in the query a comparison of two date fields nor a calculation of the difference between date field and criteria for the query.
Are you willing to consider a third party app if one could give you the date differencing capability directly in the query?

Got it, thanks so much John and Trudy! As a quick workaround I just exported the list of tickets in a spreadsheet and added a formula there. Thanks again!
