Edit Default Workflow for EPICs Issue type (Add a new status)

Hernan Mathias Farina Forster July 10, 2025

Hi!

I want to modify a workflow to add a new status "On Hold" that is associated with several issues types:

However, when I click on the workflow, it does not let me edit it, is there a way to get this done?

Thank you!

On DC the default workflows cannot be edited, you would have to make a copy of the workflow, add the new status, and then associate the new workflow with the project/epic.

Hi Hernan - Default workflows cannot be edit as the note in the image says. It is also not a good practice to change the defaults. You should make a copy and use the copy for your needs.

Hi @Hernan Mathias Farina Forster

It seems like you are using Data Center Jira, could it be possible that you do not have access to edit workflows? Also did you try copying the workflow and editing that?
