I have "medium" defined as default priority in the priority settings.

I create a new issue and it does not have a priority set.

In the edit screen i have the priority field.

The field now defaults to highest.

I dont want all edited issues to be of highest priority. how can i fix that?

Thanks in Advance, Internet <3

Hi @Jens Kisters __SeibertSolutions,

Have you checked that your project is using the wanted 'priority scheme' where you have set the default value of the priority field?

if no, you can do that by following these steps (if you are using the server version of Jira):

  1. Go to "Projects > Choose your project"
  2. Click the admin cog in the bottom right
  3. Go to Summary
  4. Check the "priorities" section (you can click on the scheme and check if you are using the right one)

It is the only one thing that I can think off after reading your message.

hope it helps

cheers

I have the same problem in Jira Data Center 8.22.6 - it's a defect for sure.

Your best bet is to raise a support ticket with Atlassian.  If enough people complain, it may eventually get fixed.
