Hello! Our team has started from Trello and now migrated to Jira. One of the functions that were very useful to us was the automatic creation of ticket whenever an error occurs in our server.
> Trello used to provide us 3 email addresses for three columns in one project
> Whenever an error occurs, server will send to one of the 3 email addresses and the ticket goes straight to that column
Is there a specific function in Jira that allows that? Right now, I am aware that Jira can create tasks and through automation, I can make it appear to the board however, it only allows me to move the ticket in one column in the project, where the workflow starts.
Also, does Jira have a function where they can provide an email address for us based on our projects (software project) or do we have to use our own?
Hello @Darcy M
To create issues in a Software project from email refer to this document.
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/create-issues-and-comments-from-email/
You have to provide the email account.
The issue will be created in the status specified in the workflow as the destination of the Create transition. You would need to use an Automation Rule to the transition it to another status automatically.
The only scenario in which Jira provides the email address is if you are using Jira Service Management projects.
