Email handler messes up tables

Hi,

i have an email handler that works fine but a lot of people email us with excel copy-pasted tables with information that must be processed.

However, jira drops the table info and makes really long texts from the content. This way we cannot read it well, and have ask for the excel per (outlook)-email.

Is there some setting where this can be adjusted?

No there isnt, its hard coded to do that and you would need to customize JIRA to change it, write your own from scratch, or try JEMH which has supoprt for HTML to wiki markup, including limited support for simple tables.
