We use Jira for a number of projects. Notifications are sent from the email address:
jira@company.com. However, when the emails are received they are labeled
"Incorrect name" <jira@company.com>
I have been searching through notifications schemes and email set ups but can't find where to change "Incorrect name".
Any help / guidance appreciated
Marcus
My guess is that this isn't in Jira, this is likely in Exchange / Outlook.
I was thinking the same however is is set up to use a SMTP relay on an internal network - the email is not being parsed by a mailbox

I am not sure what you mean, your mail client still parses the email and choses how it is displayed. Have you taken the received email and looked in the raw mail headers? My guess is that "Incorrect name" is not specified there. If it is, then your local relay may be adding that.

You are absolutely correct. I checked the raw email and the "Incorrect Name" was missing so it must be being added by the client (Zimbra) for display purposes. Thank you and apologies for my lack of understanding.
