Enabled timelines but unable to see child issues

We've got a team using a company managed project to run their work through. We've followed the steps for timelines and enabled the ability to be able to see child tickets under the epics in timelines, but for whatever reason it's still not showing.

Any ideas on how we enable this, as it's still requiring us to drill into the Epic to showcase the child issues.

To illustrate your issue can you provide screen images of your timeline and an Epic with child issues that are not displaying, and also where you set the option to show child issues in the timeline?
