I am using the Jira Datacenter with admin privileges. In one of the project, I have enabled the backlog view but not able to see the button "Create Sprint"
Need help in getting this button enabled.
Thanks!
Hello @Shad
You said you "enabled the backlog". For Scrum boards, where Sprints can be created, the Backlog is enabled by default. You don't have to take any additional steps to enable it.
In contrast for a Kanban board you do have the option to enable or disable the Backlog view. However, Sprints don't apply to Kanban and cannot be created in a Kanban board.
Have you perhaps created a Kanban board rather than a Scrum board?
On a side note, being in the System Admin group does not automatically confer to you permissions within projects. You would need to examine the Permission Scheme for the projects within the scope of the board to see if you belong to a group or role that has the Manage Sprints permission.
Thanks @Trudy Claspill
Yes, after submitting this question, I realized it was the Kanban board that I was trying to create the Sprint in. Once I realized that, I was able to create the Scrum board and it was showing the create sprint button as expected.
I appreciate the response and a clear answer. Thank you very much!

You should see if you have the Manage Sprints permission enabled for you.

Being a system admin doesn't automatically allow you permissions at the project levels, as @Trudy Claspill ably pointed out.
