Epic Link not pulling into excel

Besh Adumo February 25, 2022

Hi,

I have recently installed the Jira plugin in excel. When getting the data, I notice only one epic link is pulling through. All the epics are populating except the epic links (besides the one epic). Please help? I am using excel 365 on Mac.

Please refer too attached image - you will see only one epic pulls in.

I have blocked out sensitive information.

Thank you,

You could give a quick try to the Better Excel Exporter app as an alternative if you are not restricted to use that other app. It supports the "Epic Link" field (like all other Jira Software specific field types) and we are not aware of any bugs related to that.

(Discl. it is a paid and support Jira Cloud app, developed by my team.)

Hello @Besh Adumo

A couple of questions to triage your problem:

  1. What are the issue types of the export?
  2. What project type are you exporting from?
  3. Are you able to access and export the parent field?

Thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thank you for your response.

1. I am trying to import epic links using the Jira excel plugin

2. I am importing from a company-managed software Kanban board

3. These are all epics so there is no parent field. You will see in the attached screenshot that SPP-86 epic link populates but all the other epic links are blank. This is quite strange.

Looking forward to your help.
