Epic Name relevance on Cloud Jira

Hello,

In the latest release, the Epic Name on Epic issue type is not mandatory anymore. 

How is this field relevant anymore? is it used in any other features on Jira Cloud? ex: reports, widgets etc.

The Epic Name field is being deprecated. For more information refer to:

The change began rolling out at the beginning of April as noted here.
