Epic showing on Scrum Board when it should not

Hi,

I have a scrum board which is suddenly showing the epics in the project on the board.

They should not be there.

It does not look like anything has changed and I am unsure how to not show the epics.

The swimlines are setup with the assignee and the filter query is to show all open issues in the project (will that be a cause?)

Hi Drishti,

If you do not want the Epics to show on the board, you can adjust the board filter (that might even be what changed). You can edit the board filter itself to add: and issuetype != Epic

Or you can edit the Sub-filter of the board to do the same thing if you do not want the major filter changed (or you are not the owner of the filter).

It would seem that the initial filter as to how the board was setup was not changed so still a bit unsure as to what would have caused it. Do you perhaps have any other suggestions I could look at to see?

If not, I will change the filter but would like to know why it happened.

None that I know of that would suddenly make them appear.

We have discovered some extra info if that helps:

  • Issue is part of an active sprint
  • Issue type changed so went from e-support to story to epic
  • Issue moved from one project to another then became an epic

That's a lot of movement! I am glad you found a possible reason. Regardless, if you don't want Epics to show, I would change the board filter or sub-filter.
