Can you have an assignee for an epic? or only issues and tasks?

Hi @Louise Godwin !

Yes, you can! If you can't see the assignee field while creating an epic, then you should add it on the create screen. The easiest way is

  • Click create
  • Choose epic
  • Click "configure fields" on the top right corner
  • Click "Where's my field"
    01.where is.png
  • Start writing "assignee"
    02.assignee.png
  • Scroll down until you find the "field screen" section and click on the blue highlighted text
    03.find screen.png
  • Scroll down, type "assignee" and click enter
    04.add it on screen.png
  • That should do the trick!

Now go back and create a new epic. You should see the field on the bottom.

Let me know if that worked!

Cheers,
Alex

Thank you so much Alex for your comprehensive reply.

Truly appreciate it.  I new to Jira administration and learning as I go along.

Glad to be of assistance!
We've all been through the newbie status concerning the Jira admin. :)
I wouldn't worry though! Practice and practice! :D

Cheers,
Alex
