Epics not showing on board timeline

Sara Wortman

We have a kanban board that is filtering exclusively on Epics in the project, but when trying to access the Timeline, we get this error:

"A JQL filter is blocking your timeline
In order to use the timeline, you need to adjust the JQL filter to show epics. Changing this filter won’t impact the setup of your board."
Our hierarchy in the instance is Epic > Feature > Story. Does that have something to do with it? Screenshot 2025-06-04 at 11.43.30 AM.pngScreenshot 2025-06-04 at 11.44.10 AM.png

Hey @Sara Wortman

I've tried to replicate the issue with no success.

My advice would be to strip that filter back to just the project name and see what affect that has on the error.

Let me know what happens. Would be good to see.

Thanks

Aaron.
