Epics workflow

How can I create an epic workflow according to the issues linked to it?

I would like to have the epic with "In Progress" status if at lease one issue that is linked to it is with status "In Progress" or "closed" (or other)

and I would like the epic to close when all the issues linked to it are closed.

Any idea how?

What is the relationship between an issue and an epic? parent??
