Error on starting Jira

Edv Raml February 5, 2020

Hi,

I upgraded Mysql Version from 5.6 to 8.

Now Jira gives me this error

Beschreibung Zeit Ebene Ausnahme
Could not connect to database
2020-02-05 14:19:07 error

org.ofbiz.core.entity.GenericDataSourceException: SQL Exception while executing the following:SELECT ID, pname, URL, LEAD, DESCRIPTION, pkey, pcounter, ASSIGNEETYPE, AVATAR, ORIGINALKEY, PROJECTTYPE FROM project (You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ', DESCRIPTION, pkey, pcounter, ASSIGNEETYPE, AVATAR, ORIGINALKEY, PROJECTTYPE FR' at line 1)

How can I solve this?

Hi @Edv Raml ,

as you can see on the Supported Platforms page, MySQL 8 is not yet supported bu Jira : https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/supported-platforms-938846830.html

This might be why you're having issues after upgrading.

Let me know if this helps,

Hello, @Alexis Robert  !

I have the same problem mentioned by @Edv Raml.

But on the page you left in your answer said that MySQL 8 is already being supported by Jira. And still I have this problem. Previously I cuoldn't connect database to application because of "wrong" connector version. I had to change it from mysql-connector-java-8.0.24 to mysql-connector-java-5.1.49. However on the next step I faced new issues :(

Do I have to change version of MySQL 8 to MySQL 5.6? Even though Atlassian says it should be working in both cases
