Estimates need to be updated during the sprint

I have set an original estimate for 4 hours. But I realized it will only take2 hours to complete the task. When logging work is it okay to log 1 hour and set remaining as 1 hour? What will be the impact of this action to the Burndown?

Make sure you check in your board configuration what is the "Estimation statistic" actually configured and if you are using time tracking or not.
