Exclusion rules in Plans - Excluding an Initiative

Hi,

I would like to create plans for specific Initiatives (we call them Deliverables) only, so that those responsible for those deliverables can track them, still using the Boards as sources, so we can see the work by team and sprint. Teams work on multiple initiatives, not necessarily sequentially,

Therefore, I would like to exclude certain initiatives from my plan. I can see I can exclude issues by key, but if I do that, it just removes that issue, not everything that is nested under that issue. So the Initiative is not listed, but all the isues that roll up to that initiative are still on the plan, without a parent.

Another thing I tried is to select the Initiatives in the timeline view, but again, when I select the issue, it is not selecting all the child issues. It therefore seems I have to select each child issue in the hierarchy individually in order to exclude them all from the plan. There does not appear to be a way to select in bulk.

Has anyone found a better way to do this?  Thanks!

Hello, Good day. You have excluded the issuekey from the JQL filter and by using the remove issue from plan option ?
