Exporting LInked issues details like Linked issue Assignee, Linked issue Sprint etc.

Saurabh Patel July 1, 2022

Is there a way I can get the details for Linked issues when exporting(csv) the issues.

I need the following linked issue details:

Dependency(predecessor) Issue Links
Dependency(predecessor) Issue Link Assignee

Dependency(predecessor) Issue Link Sprint

Hi @Saurabh Patel

Unfortunately out of the box this is not possible. You may want to look into the third partly plugins such as as structure for this one. It keeps the link relationship very clean for export.

Hi @Saurabh Patel

if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would also work very elegantly with JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing and inline-editing all your issue fields. JXL also allows viewing your issues in user-configurable hierarchies, e.g. based on issue links. This hierarchy can then be exported to CSV or Excel with one click.

This is how it looks in action:

As you can see above, you can freely choose which fields should be part of a JXL sheet and therefore the export. It's also worth noting that JXL can do much more than that: From inline bulk-editing via copy/paste, to quick sorting and filtering, to complex issue structures and sum-ups. Disclaimer: I work on JXL :)

JXL is perfectly compatible with Jira Server, and I'd be very happy to generate a free trial license for you.

Best,

Hannes
