Facing a weird issue while creating linked issues from a parent issue

Hi All,

Functionality requirement is : When selecting a field which is type List in a parent Issue(P1) and after selection when Parent issue(P1) is saved should create child issues linked to P1.

Depending on my selection of that field (example two values Val1 , Val2) the script should create two child issue with field value Val1 and Val2.(First child with Val1 in selected field and second child with Val2) Both these child issues must be linked to Parent issue(P1)

Issue faced: Instead of 2 links the parent issue is linked to 3 links. The last value Val2 is created twice as linked object to original parent link. Though the issue create function is called only twice. For debugging purpose I have set a counter which tells that function is called 2 times. But I don't get a clue why the third link is getting created.

Similarly I tried to select 3 values in parent issue from list option and saved the parent link: Val1, Val2 and Val3. Expected result is it should make 3 links which are connected to parent issue. But It creates 6 child issues: one child issue for Val1, two child issue for Val2 and 3 child issue for Val3.

I am stuck with this code. Any help would be highly appreciated

• Which add-on are you using to debug the system and get this information?
