False error message by Jira Cloud Backup import

Administrator August 3, 2023

Your backup file is outdated

You haven’t taken a backup of your Jira cloud site in the last 14 days. Importing your data file will overwrite all data in your cloud site. You won’t be able to recover the data. On the Back up manager page, click Create backup for cloud to take a fresh backup, and import again, or contact support to proceed.

This error message appears even though I have done and downloaded the backup just 6 days ago. Jira cloud Error Message.png

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

This looks like you have taken a backup of one Cloud system and are trying to restore it into another.  This process can fail with "out of date" errors when the two Cloud systems are on different builds (It takes weeks for Atlassian to roll out the latest version to everyone).

I would leave it a couple of days and try again, or take a new backup of the source system to restore into the target.

Thank you for the answer. Indeed I downloaded the backup from the wiki-instance but restored in the backup-instance. However it shouldn't matter, I hope it will be possible with the next version.
