Hello,
I would like to modify field values of different issue types without impacting one another.
Example:
I would like to keep "Priority" field for a bug, but I don't need this field for a User Story. Hence, I would like to remove "Priority" field from a user story, but I want to make sure I keep it for bugs (both create and view screens). How can I achieve this?
Thanks,
Arash
Hi @Arash Taheri ,
Yes, you can have different field configurations for stories and bugs in the same field configuration scheme where 'priority' is hidden for the field configuration associated to stories.
My previous answer was for company managed projects. For a team managed project, you can go to project settings-> 'Fields', and add 'priority' as required for 'bugs' e.g. while keeping it out for 'stories':
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Create separate Field Configurations for Bug and Story Issuetypes. You can Hide Priority for Story.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Thanks for the quick response. However, I'm still not able to make this change happen. Jira is becoming very confusing since I'm not really sure how to separate things out between Epic, Bug, Feature, etc... when it comes to the following items:
Screen
Screen Scheme
Issue Type Screen Schemes
Field Configuation
Field Configuration Schems
If someone can provide a step-by-step guide, where I can follow to keep things separate between but issue types (Bug, Feature), it'll be great. Basically, I need to make sure I can modify different issue types independently. Can someone provide step-by-step guideline? Thank you
