Field Due Date

Hi!

Is it possible to configure Due Date field so that it will show additionally time (hh:mm:s) also or system fields are not editable?

Is the alternative just to add new custom field with type "date and time"?

Yes, that is the best option - to add new custom field. Modifying the system field needs modifying the code and then you will have to maintain it across JIRA versions!

You mean if I modify code in version 3.4 I should modify the same thing in the version 3.5 also?

Yes - if you upgrade from 3.4 to 3.5, you'll need to re-apply all your code changes. Although, if you're using Jira 3.4, I'd be recommending you look at upgrading to Jira 4.4 instead...
