Field added to screen, but cannot see it on the ticket or in issue layout configuration page.

I added the field "total cost" to my issue's Edit/View screen. It is there when I look at the "Configure Screen" page. I also used the 'Find your Field' feature, which says the field should be showing on my screen.

However, the field is not showing when I view the ticket. It is also not even an option as a field when I configure the issue layout for this screen.

 

The custom field is set for a global context.

Hello @Christy Kennedy 

If you have added the field to the Configure Screen page then it is already included in the Issue Layout, and would not be found again if you are searching for fields to add in the Issue Layout screen.

It may have been automatically added to the HIDE WHEN EMPTY section of the Issue Layout.

In that case you would find the field in the More fields panel when viewing the issue, if the field is empty.

If you want the empty field to show in the Details panel, in Issue Layout drag the field from below the HIDE WHEN EMPTY line to above that line.
